“A 20 Hour Flight: No Problem”
A double mastectomy patient is going to fly to Australia...in the summer. It's a scenario that makes every lymphedema therapist cringe.
This was the case with one of our very first customers, whom we met at the National Lymphedema Network conference in Chicago. She came to our exhibit to learn about the Compressure Comfort® Bra.
This patient had undergone a double mastectomy and had no intention of reconstruction. She had fibrosis under the left arm, swelling in the chest wall and experienced greater discomfort when flying domestically. She was leaving for her “dream trip” in two weeks - did we think our bra would help?
We had her try on an A/B cup in her rib cage size. The bra fit well and she was delighted with the compression and support. We then added a chip pad under her left arm. She said the pack felt secure and unobtrusive. Simply stated: she was thrilled.
Our happy customer left the conference wearing the bra, ready for the flight and upon her return, she called and ordered a second bra.
